The technology is based on the following concepts:
1. The preclinical stage in breast cancer lasts from two to ten years.
2. In patients suffering from breast cancer, the biochemical characteristics of lymphocytes
change as early as at the preclinical stage.
3. Changes in lymphocyte characteristics allow the breast cancer to be diagnosed at the
preclinical stage of the disease.
To construct diagnostic rules, two groups are selected:
group of patients suffering from breast cancer;
group of healthy people.
Diagnostic rules are constructed based on biochemical characteristics of lymphocytes and epidemiological parameters of subjects belonging to the above groups.
In compliance with thus constructed diagnostic rules, biochemical characteristics of lymphocytes and epidemiological parameters will allow to determine whether the particular patient suffers from breast cancer.
The proposed technology will enable the diagnosis of breast cancer not only in Stage 1 but also in Stage 0 (in the preclinical period).
